Anna's Yoga Journey
Anna has studied yoga in India and the USA. She was initiated into the Himalayan tradition in '73 by Swami Rama, and later by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. She's studied with yoga adepts on Kumbha Mela tours of '74 in Rishikesh and '01 in Allahabad, as well as Christian and Buddhist meditation teachers including Sr. Francis Rothleubber and Abo Rimpoche of Kulu Manali. She is a nurse and Integrative Breathworker certified through Transformations Incorporated.
Therapeutic Yoga
Her nurse's training as well as personal experiences recovering from a serious auto accident in '75 opened her mind and heart to the potential of yoga as a healing tool.
Anna currently teaches Yoga for Stress Management at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, clincs and health resource centers in the Milwaukee and Waukesha areas. She taught yoga for S. C. Johnson's employee health and recreation center in Racine, WI, for 7 years. She has been published in Yoga International, Nursing Matters and the Milwaukee Yoga Magazine on therapeutic yoga and women's health topics.
For the past 5 years she has facilitated weekend Women's Retreats for Inner Beauty and Renewal at the Star Lake Retreat Center in northern Wisconsin. The retreats offer ample oportunities to enjoy the Northwoods, healthy vegetarian meals, workshops on; yoga, qigong, Ayurvedic healing, Native American teachings, art, creative writing and more.
